Ilana and Gregory: married!

Happy new year! My first post of 2012 is my last wedding of 2011. Ilana and Gregory got married new years eve at the School of the Art Institute’s Grand Ballroom. They now live in Brooklyn, but met years ago at the Art Institute, so it was only right they get married there. It was also the perfect backdrop for her 1930′s inspired day. Ilana looked like she walked right out of an era. It was a day filled with so much love and happiness. Thanks for letting me part of your day. What a way to end the year!

milo’s holiday shoot!

Finally, I did a shoot with my little one for our holiday card. Below are some of the outtakes. Not sure why I didn’t do this sooner! He’s modeling the bowtie I made him as well….He’s a good subject, no? Maybe I’m just biased.

derby lite.

For almost two years now, I have been skating with derby lite. Derby lite is a fitness league “for women who know better.” It is 2 hours of rollerderby drills, taught by real rollerderby girls, without having to compete. Its ALOT of fun. I’m able to do things on skates I never thought was imaginable, as well as made some pretty amazing friends! However, I took a little break from skating because my fall photo season was pretty busy, among other things. I paid them a visit a few weeks ago and snapped some photos while David Kindler took some action shots.  It sure made me realize how much I can’t wait to put my skates back on and join them out there! Hopefully soon!

lindsey and erika: engaged!

Lindsey and erika will be my first wedding of 2013! But for now we did a quick engagement session starting in Andersonville. We walked around the neighborhood a little bit, then stopped into Kopi Cafe for some tea because its where they had their first date. We then braved the cold and headed to the loop to take some photos on the franklin bridge. They were so fun to work with and I’m definitely looking forward to their wedding, even if its over a year away!

holiday special #5: fay’s family!

Last up in the holiday photo special shoots: Fay’s family! Fay is one of my fellow skaters with Derby lite. This was their first family photo experience – they all did great! Thanks for all those who participated. Hope to do it again in the spring, if you missed out.

kelly and chris.

Kelly and chris got married a few weeks ago at the Danada House, in Wheaton. They were a pleasure to work with – so happy and calm throughout the entire day. I love all kelly’s special touches – including her fun purple rainboots! All the best to the two of you. You will for sure live happily ever after!

holiday special #3: haley.

This was my third time getting to photograph haley, so I was thrilled that Adam and Emily came from aurora to take part in the shoot! They even brought their dog Gatsby along too!

holiday special #3: dakota and jenna.

I’ve known Jenna for a few years now, and have photographed some events for many of her friends…. Now, I finally got a chance to take some photos for her.  Jenna and dakota showed up with a ton of balloons. She knows the way to my heart….

holiday special #2: Chloe’s family.

Sorry for the delay – thanksgiving kind of got in the way….Up next in the holiday photo special is Chloe’s family. Chloe is one of my fellow skaters in Derby lite. She also skates with the windy city rollers…..and she also has an adorable family. I had no idea she was a mom of THREE! We had alot of fun on our “urban photo adventure!”
